About the Performer

D. Chakravarthy is a gifted Kuchipudi artist from Chennai who began his training at age five under Guru Shri S.P. Anand at Shri Ambikeshwara Nruthya Niketan. He later continued his advanced training under Smt. Srimayi Vempati at the Kuchipudi Art Academy, where he has been learning for over seven years. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, he is pursuing a Master’s in Kuchipudi from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. He has performed at major festivals including Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Indian Dance Festival, Uday Shankar Festival, and Mandakranta Nrityotsav, and toured the U.S. in 2019 performing ballets choreographed by Padmabhushan Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam. In 2023, he portrayed Shiva in Descent of Ganga at Vasant Utsav, Chennai, and was conferred the title “Natyavikasa” at Kalōpāsana, Hyderabad.
